The K9CleanUp fund-raiser takes place on 27th – 30th August 2021, and was set up Becky Baker, founder of K9 Nation. She had the idea for a dog-walk litter pick after her three-year-old cockapoo Buddy trod on some glass and has now expanded it into a nationwide event.
Becky explained “After Buddy cut his paw, I wanted to do something and had the idea of getting other dog owners to join me, then had the idea to fundraise too. We wanted to give dog owners the chance to take part in something that can really make a difference to the surroundings where we live, as well as helping dogs.”
Ways to get involved
1. Post a Selfie
Grab a picture taking part in a #K9cleanup walk, post it on social media, and see what others in the community have done!
2. Invite Others
The more people that take part, the bigger the impact! Invite your friends and family, and their dogs, to pick up litter on their walks.
3. Order a Clean Up Kit
Donate to K9 nation’s chosen charity, Support Dogs, and receive their K9 Clean Up Kit to help you with your #K9Cleanup walks.
4. Organise Your Own Local K9 Clean Up Event
Why notet people in your area together for a local K9 Clean Up event? Register your event with K9 Nation and they will send you some K9 Nation Clean up kits, and the K9 Clean Up 2021 T-shirt, to get you started.
5. Set Up A Sponsored K9 Clean Up
Get the kids involved and raise some money for the charity Support Dogs. Set up a Just Giving page and get sponsors for a #K9Cleanup event. If you raise over £50 K9 Nation will send you a Support Dog teddy.
