A Special Visit to Pets As Therapy

Written by: Isobella Ash

Here at Orvis UK we wanted to start the year right. What better way to do this then to travel down to the Pets as Therapy’s (PATs) new headquarters and present them with a cheque!

This wonderful charity help enhance thousands of lives each day by dedicated volunteers and their pets giving up some spare time each week to bring companionship and joy to so many people in need of comfort. Mans best friend can help people of all ages in so many locations such as hospitals, schools and hospices. They work to help anyone who appreciates the warm companionship and love of a friendly animal.

This is why, during the last 3 months of 2018, all 18 Orvis UK stores asked customers if they would be kind enough to donate one pound for PAT. This, on top of a PAT dog walk and some delicious “Pupcakes” made by one of our employees, gave us a lovely total of £2,146.

Adrian Woolford, Managing Director of Orvis UK, Deborah Dow, Chief Executive of Pets as Therapy and Sesc the dog.

Adrian Woolford, Managing Director of Orvis UK, handed this cheque earlier this month to Deborah Dow, Chief Executive of Pets as Therapy, starting the year as we mean to go on. We are proud to continue supporting PATs throughout 2019 and one of the ways we are doing that is to continue with the pound for PATs initiative.

We look forward to supporting them as much as we can and helping to gain them even more enthusiastic volunteers. So, if you think you have a little time to spend helping others with a kind natured furry friend please contact the Pets as Therapy team to become a volunteer.
