Meet the Orvis Dogs

Written by: Jodie Lindop

Here at Orvis we are full of canine loving individuals. From working dogs to pet dogs, we have plenty of loving, furry friends in all shapes and sizes.

Our dogs all play a huge part in our everyday lives and having a dog friendly environment in the workplace certainly adds to fun and adventure that a day in the office brings.

So without further ado, let’s meet some of the Orvis Dogs from Head Office and find out what they love to do to get their tails wagging.

Nell

Nell is a Cocker Spaniel, and is 2 years old. She lives life to the full, which includes long romps across the countryside. One of her favourite things to do is to stand on top of the family car, upon her return from a walk!

George

George is a Black Labrador and is 3 ½ years old, turning 4 in May. He is Gun Dog trained to platinum level and a fast retriever. He loves hunting. One time some children were playing tennis on the green and had lost their balls. After many minutes their father came to help them search and they couldn’t find any. However, with George’s help he went in the hedge to search and he found all three balls straight away.

(From the left) Connie, Grace, Leo, Darcy and Tizzy

Connie is 7 years old. She always has her tongue poking out. She is sweet and loves to play catch with her rubber ring toy.

Grace is 4 years old. She is Connie’s niece. She competes in obedience. She is the smallest of the gang, is sharp and very intelligent. She loves nothing better than to be cradled like a baby.

Leo is 8 years old. He is a gentle dog, handsome, quiet and a fab worker. Recently retired, he competed in obedience becoming eligible for the top class in the country.

Darcy is 2 years old. Leo is his dad. He also competes in obedience. He is loving in nature, in winter he likes to lie as close to the wood burner as possible. He adores training and often sits under his lead if he thinks it’s time for his walk.

Tizzy – the leader of the pack. She is 11.5 years old and is the queen mother of the group.
The 5 of them are all Border collies and are all related to each other.

Cherry

Cherry is an English Springer Spaniel and she will be turning 6 in April. She loves playing with tennis balls and socialising with other dogs.

Dalton

Dalton is a pug and is 6 months old. He loves baths (and eating the bubbles) His Saturday morning routine consists of running by the beach/in the forest, then straight up to the bath to wash off the muck and play with bubbles, blow dry/towel dry depending and then he falls asleep upside-down like a baby while getting his paws moisturized.

Maisy

Maisy is a working Cocker Spaniel and is 4 years old. She LOVES the sea and constantly walks head first into things.

Monty

Monty is a Black Labrador and is 5 years old. He’s great at flushing out rabbits and his favourite thing ever is carrots.

Peg

Peg is a Patterdale Terrier and is a 9 years old. She is a rescue dog that has lived a very happy life with her owners for 8 years. She is a little crazy and loves nothing more than to chase anything that moves! She also enjoys going for long runs / walks. Finally she is a sun lover, one sun ray and she will find a way to sit in it and fall asleep!

Bracken and Toby

Bracken is 2 ½ years old and Toby is 10 years old. They are both West Highland/Scottish Terrier Cross (Westscots).
