Well it’s been a busy start on the Orvis beats this year, with a lot of ground and bank maintenance in preparation for a great seasons fly fishing!

The Grannom hatches have begun in earnest now and I’ve seen plenty of Trout and Grayling activity on both the Ginger Beer and Itchen beats and I never tire of seeing the beautiful browns rising to take the early season hatches.

Both, the Test and Itchen beats have been stocked with some particularly finely marked browns, which I’m sure will ensure some great sport over the next few weeks.

We’ve also got some great events this year, starting Easter Good Friday, which is the Cast & Cask! This is a fabulous free event at Kimbridge Ginger Beer Beat, with a great opportunity to try the latest Orvis fly fishing products and glorious wines from Wine Utopia!

For more information on Cast and Cask, visit our Stockbridge store page, places are still available, please call the store on 01264 811019 to book.

Sounds like a perfect way to spend a day on our beautiful River location at Kimbridge.

Hope to see you there!
